Hi, you sound like the expert on the 490. I'm a two stroke guy that first raced a 1979 yz125 back in 1981. Had a new cagiva wmx125 in 1983 (first USA owner). Anyway, long years later I just purchased an excellent 1983 but had a leaky tank. Then of course the money pit started. I spent another $1200 or so. It's white now(on bike pics). I did change the exhaust to DG and It is crisp, but shit, I never really rode it before so I'm a bit worried after reading all the talk about the jetting and seizing. Well it's a pretty generic question, and I haven't even looked at the carb yet. I'm at about 1200 ft in phx. This bike is still on first bore. I've had a couple cr5's and kx5's and the jetting was no problem. Sorry if I'm a newbie on the 490, but you seem to be the guy to talk to. I just don't want to kill it if i take it to the dunes.
