    Hi all, I'm a beginner looking for A good light enduro bike that I can hang onto for a few year's. I'm missing my right hand so I needs to have a dual throttle cable so I can reverse the throttle & put it on the left hand side, it also needs to be able be fitted with a rekluse clutch system.

    Thanks

    All good Sean, ok sweet. Yer the crf450x can be fitted with a rekluse clutch nice! I'm able to get my learners in a couple of months, I'll need to buy a hydraulic clutch to convert the break to the left side to any bike I buy, that's why I'm looking for a bike I can keep for a few years. Any other ideas?
    price between $3000 + to get an idea, what do you ride Sean & how long you been riding?

    I've been told that the rekluse's downside is that when going down slopes it has a tendency of creeping forward a bit, but in my case its a small problem. the good out way the bad by a country mile. Lost his leg ay geeze, yer I will go n sit on a few bikes over the next couple of months to get the feel of such suits me best.
    Ok thanks Mark, I'll look it up :D

    Do these bike's have a dual throttle cable?

    What about a ktm 350? Is there much difference between the 12-13 model?

    The KTM 350 is a good bike, and though I can only truly comment on the ones stateside, they are not street ready out of the box, yet easy to convert though. They weight a tad bit less than their 450 counterparts, and the 2013 is a bit different from the 2012 model in terms of engine specs and dynamics. They can be equipped with a Rekluse as well, and they have good power to weight ratio. I am sure it can be modded to your liking by the right wrench, so no worries there either.

    Thanks BleedMarshall, I read on one forum some guy complaining about ktm 350 and ktm products being too expensive & that the 13 model was garbage he seams to think it will need a rebuild within a year if one was to ride it more than so many hours, or to make it street legal. I think thats be. To spend $10.000 just to need a rebuild after a year's riding?

    Cheers Sean. Yer CRocky125 saw that on foxtel(speed) it's a nimble piece of work. So what about Yamaha & Honda? In the 400's, is there a difference or much of a diff in there weight an that's the best value for money?

    @LEFTIE

    Whoever that guy was on the other forum was probably a shade tree mechanic, or a glorified parts changer, at best. The 2013 KTM 350 needing fully rebuilt after a year of weekend warrior riding is horse shit, plain and simple. The same goes for them being "oh so more expensive and hard to get parts for". If you race often and really hammer the bike, then any bike will need rebuilds far more often. This is common knowledge among racers and weekend riders.

    The parts are as easy to get as any other bike now and the prices are the same as well. Back 10-15 years ago it was hard to get their higher dollar parts, but not now. I own two bikes. A YZ125 and a 300 XC-W, and it is easier to work on the 300 and also just as easy to find parts for. The parts for the 300 are only more due to things being bigger. A 72mm piston is going to cost more than a 54mm piston, and so on and so forth.

    Will the 350s have a bit more in cost due to being a 350 and a newer bike? Yes, but not like it will break you up. If you have the money to buy a new 2013 bike, you have the money to buy what you need, and if you do the proper maintenance you will spend far less anyway. Many people who bitch about bikes, of any make and model or year, usually are ham handed jackasses who think they know what they are talking about, but really can't find their ass with both hands.

    all that aside, you may have to spenda few extra dollars here and there to make it street legal, but in many places in the states that is adding a head light, tail light, signals, and mirrors, and then changing the tires to dual sport.DOT legal tires for road and stret use. This is the worst case scenario as some places require the head light, a single mirror, tail light, and tires. Just check into what you have to do to make a bike street legal.

    I hope that helps and I was not ragging on you, just fools who are spouting shit they don't know about. Hahahaha!
