2011Yz125 issues

    So last week I was riding fine. Today I get out to the track but the bike gives me hell starting it. It will run with choke on but the RPMs stay real high and it will die with throttle. The mechanic at the teach said I needed new reed valves and a top end job. grand total $450. This guy has been very reasonable before but I'm not a mechanic, any help?

    You might not have to rebuild both, but it is most likely one of the two. There is too much air getting into the cylinder somewhere along the line.

    Agreed, remove and clean the pilot jet
    and find a new "mechanic"
