Shorty
  • Hi. I am looking to buy a dirt bike for myself. I am really small for my age. I am 15 years old and 5 foot tall. I know, I'm small. Anyways I have been riding for a couple months and I have decided and convinced my mom to get me one. I have been riding my friends kx65. I am doing well. Anyways I have heard from some people not to get something too big. I have also heard to get something like a 125. I have been looking at a Honda crf 150 a Kawasaki 100 and a yz125. I don't know what to get. I am not very confident yet and I don't plan to race for a while if I ever do at all. Any help on what to get is appreciated. Thanks.

    A 125 would be a challenge heightwise

  • That's what I thought. I have sat on a ktm 125 and have a lot if trouble just getting a foot down to keep it up. I don't know what to get though. My height sais smaller 85 but my age sais 125.

Yeah bro look into the crf150R
  • Ok. I have been looking at one of those. I have heard some bad things about the older models like 2009. That is what I have found. A lot of them. On the ktm125 I rode I had to have the dampening so low just so I could touch the ground.

You can find bad things about anything if you look hard enough. Im sure lots of riders outgrow the 150. There are lots of 65's and 85's on the market too, doesnt mean they are junk
  • I see what you are saying. Because they grow out of them there are a lot on the market. You don't see quite as many 250s and 450s because people don't outgrow them.
