The 4 wheelers didnt try back side of hill,but forreal I dony race so dont need mx bike,the bike will be fixed by Wednesday,I payed 8800 little over a month ago,im in a loan for it I have to get atlease 75 out of it to pay loan off,I ride alot ot trails this bike flat out sucks in trails, I don't care how you ride, I don't care how long you been riding,atv will smoke you in the trails all day, the trails get tight, wet muddy dirt bike is sliding all over the place, you have to rascal it on turns you have to lean your bike, it definitely wear you out, is 50 dudes that ride down there I watch them, I watch the bikes I watch the ATV's.now when we race I eat most of them,but I like to ride I was looking at the throttle the tube is fine hand guard bent in,

If u want both just buy a cheap used quad. My ltz400 was 2000$ you can usually find mid 2k raptors for around 2500$. You can find a blaster all day for like 1200$.

you kept having problems with your raptor? I thought you said you never had to do any maintenance to your raptor and it just kept going.

can am renegades are nice quads but if you think loosing you crf down a hill was a bad day wait till you loose your can am down a hill. that'll cost ya half the price of the bike.

the crf450r is an awesome MX bike. if you want a trail bike with better gearing and plusher suspension you should buy a trail orientated bike such as a crf450x it has higher top speed, slower 1st gear, bigger fuel tank, electric start and better protection. all things you've complained about on you race bike over the last few weeks.  im sick to death of hearing people complain about their MX bike not being a good trail bike. its like buying a v8 then complaining about bad fuel mileage. no ones fault but your own

I never rebuilt a top end nothing like that, starter battery and tie rods kept going up on me, not a mechanic I just do my best,nzride your right I was just pissed I couldnt be on it after a small crash,to be truthful with you guys I thought the new 4 strokes didnt need topends and maintenance like they do the guys at the shop told me they dont but that's not the case,sorry about all the crying its gotta be fixed, I don't care who you are when you watch your new bike roll down a hill it hurts,im going to the shop when they open to get aluminum throttle tube, I'm not sure what I need for the back brake,you know I never did nothing to vals or top end on that raptor,

Nzrider I see it like this,we pay big money for our bikes. the question is can they really with Stand what they are designed to do. A dirtbike should not cost more then a car truck and street bike to operate, everybody is not mechanically inclined is you. I can do cosmetic work but a engine tear down rebuild would be scary. I was on the wrong impression when I bought it if I would have know this I would have bought a 2 stroke. not complaining not crying just saying.if your not a sponsored racer is it worth buying?

Its an expensive hobby and if you cant do most of the maintenance yourself it gets really expensive.

People always mystified by the workings of a motor if they never messed with them. I'm a self taught mechanic. Just Google, ask specific questions. Use a manual, have proper tools. An most importantly, take your time be patient. As masterlink said in my thread, it not rocket science. Shit I'm doin my first valve job on my old ladies quad. Gona cost me 200$. If I took it to dealer it would be 1500$+ easy. You have to become student before you can be the master.

They said wd40 will not stay on to long but will not hurt them,and on a new stock chain its expected to stretch
