Hey guys, I've recently decided to get into this sport since I miss being on two wheels. Having said that, yesterday I picked up a 2004 CRF250x for 2,000 with a white bros muffler. Was this a good or bad deal? Also, what exacctly do I need to do in order to maintain it properly? I'm looking for a cheap service manual to get, any suggestions on which one is best would also be appreciated. Basically, the reason I'm posting is to see what you guys have to say about me starting. I pretty much have a bike and that's it, so any suggestions on what to get gear/trailer wise as well as where to get it and how to maintain my bike in the long run to keep it running strong for a while would be great. Thanks a lot in advance to all the ladies and gentlemen who give me advice.

Bikebandit has slow shipping.  I use Motosport.com and their stuff usually gets here a day early.  Like if I order it wednesday then it will get here Friday most of the time.  Infact, I don't think faster shipping would actually make it arrive earlier lol.

    Motosport.com

If there something you need to try on, go to the local bike shop and try one on, then go order it online.

Yeah that sounds like a good plan, kinda too late cuz I feel like the only thing I should've tried on was the helmet since there's boot sizing charts :/

Well, I actually bought my first helmet online. Took kind of a gamble. I wear those "flexfit" hats and I bought the same size as the hats I wear and it worked. Lucky I guess!

  • Hi I just bought a crf250 my old bike was a drz125. im only 160cm tall and I can touch the ground with my feet when on the bike and am finding it a bit sceary to ride. would anybody know if lowering the bike might be a good option for me?

i dont think so. if you can touch the ground now then making it lower will only make it cramped. you should be riding with your feet up on the pegs nearly ALL the time. work on that and throttle control and you'll learn to love the bike quickly

Get the boots and gloves and whatever else first. Depending on how bad it's bent it should be okay for a bit till you get other stuff. How bad is it bent? Just bent back a little or is it like twisted up and down and every other direction?
