Stripped oil pressure bolt
  • Howdy Folks.
First of all I know I made a dumb mistake and I admit it so don't tell me about it!

Anyway, I stripped the oil pressure bolt on my 09 yz250f. That's the bolt up on the head that you use to check and make sure it is getting oil up there. I must have put it in too tight, because I noticed it dripping oil and upon further inspection it is definitely stripped. Has anyone had this happen before? What would the best way to repair it be? It isn't stripped so bad that I can't get it out. I was thinking of just tapping the hole and putting a new bolt in. If that would work does anyone know where I could get a replacement bolt the next size up?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

retap and go bigga is def way 2 go.  u may not even hafta drill if its not badly mangled.  mayb just go with a coarser thread. use grease on the tap so that u capture as much of the chip as possible.
