First and foremost, good to see some of the vets still hanging around, it's comforting.

The year started with my fiance being pregnant which was the start of the best journey I've had in my life. By march I was getting pre Arizona summer depression and decided to buy a boat. I used to wakeboard a lot and grew up on a board so it was only fitting for my new lifestyle.

In April I graduated with my bachelor degree in management and also got married. The wife and I went to Hawaii, just the two of us, got married after eight years of putting up with each other and had the time of our lives.

Once the dust settled and the summer started, we were in full preparation mode for our little guy to get here sometime mid August. He didn't like that and decided he wanted out two weeks early. He graced us on July 31st after a 30 hour labor.

My life after he was born has been nothing short of amazing and I truly understand when someone tells me that "you'll never know what it's like until you have your own", It is true, I fully understand.

It is now ending the year and my only complaint is that I lost one of the closest companions in my life, Beau, my 5 year old Doberman. He had health issues from his first year and was maintained through lots of cooking real food and love. It was one of the hardest, to date, issues I've dealt with. I know some of you are thinking, "it's just a dog". but I loved him more than I love most humans, I say that confidently. :)

Here is one of my favorite pics of him.

Other than that, no bikes in the garage, I sold them and am in the market for an orange bike and another blue one, still haven't decided what yet. It has been tough not riding but I did ride my buddy's 450 at the track on Sunday, it was more of a tease than pleasure.

On a completely separate note, I found a picture in the archives of Maple. I think he posted this a long time ago.

Ha! Look at that little guy, cute as hell! Sorry about the dog, if I remember correctly, didn't he have some medical issues? He was just out of puppy size I think when I saw him.

We got a little shit machine on the way too, still kinda looks like an alien though, I think it's human, lol. I'm tellin you man, check out Motocity, they have the absolute best deals on Husky's and KTM's, you can get a demo bike for dirt cheap, they list OTD prices on CL too. I'll hopefully get on a bike again soon, but I gotta put the extra dough into a property first. These cold, wet days make me miss it all too much!

btw the boat pic just loaded for me, nice sea ray. Great built boats, have some of the best gel coat out of most boats in their class at least as far as detailing goes and strength, they come back like new even when they arent cared for. (dad's a boat detailer in case you forgot haha)

Congratulations Hella.  Sold your bike for a boat, I am still having issues with that one.  I am considering trading mine for  bike with a light.  I still have dreams of slow poking the 24hr ironman before I get old.lol

  • Devoir is no longer mark :) it was an amazing learning experience which holds so much much value to me. The money was just not there to get ahead and continue to grow. I wouldn't take back one minute of time or cent that was spent. My business degree couldn't hold a flame to knowledge I gained while putting devoir together.

I still train BMX and motocross kids, personal physical training that I still consider devoir training but that's all the name holds now. Just trained a 21 year kid name Justin Dyar who placed 2nd at worlds in London.

    Mike,
Sorry to hear you shut down, I kinda thought that might be the case.  It's great that it was a good learning experience as well as a way to "give back" to the sport.  You should be proud of your efforts and accomplishments.
Hopefully we can catch up this summer at Thunder Valley any chance you might go to the Utah national.  I know it is a long way off and very hard to commit once life changes/blessings start to happen.  Keep in touch.

    Mark

Marky, Hella opened a moto gear company just before the bottom fell out of the industry.  Maybe now that the industry is picking up Devoir can rise from the ashes????

  • Didn't Devoir Racing also have something to do with his degree?  I think Mike's in a good place now with the wife and baby - running a business can be really tough and takes away from the important things in life.
