Yz250 yamaha 1989 blown somthing

    I have a 1989 yz250 with the cylinder top off there is a chunk out of the piston all i know is that it was run with streight fuel not a mix piston is black but still moves with kick start any ideas

    New piston for sure and probly cylinder fix.

    Is the cylinder head damaged at all or just the piston? If it was run with straight gas you have to drain the gas tank and carb and put mix in it, and definitely buy a new piston and gaskets. If you don't want to take the time to drain the gas tank and carb, try to figure out how much gas is in it and try to mix it while its in the bike. You can put a little bit of oil in the cylinder head and slowly kick it to send it through the carb. Only do a little bit though, you don't want it running too rich. But it is better to have it too rich than too lean!

    The head of piston was off wheb i brought the bike and the info i gave is of a visual of piston?

    It still kicks when i do it slowly even tho i have been told not to dose that mean its not seizd
