Ok so i went to look at a friends bike today as he wants to sale it. The kickstarter just wants to fall down when you go to kick it. Doesnt turn the motor at all. just falls. What could be wrong here and please no smart ass comments i assumimg its the gear that connect to the kickstart lever but i am asking if it could something bigger? Basically a worse case scenario. The bike runs fine when you push start it. But i unlike him am not about to push start a bike each time .

First thing I would check is compression (compression tester) if it seems okay (150ish psi) then I would check the kick start mechanism out.********************************************************

Yeah compression is good. The kick doesnt do anything i mean nothing. The bike doesnt make a sound when your kicking it. Say you had to replace all parts of the kickstart . how ba of a job is it.

Its the PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR . Part number 1C3-16150-00-00
ANy body else seen this. The center part is busted nicely -
I would take the mechanism apart, then go on motosport and find the OEM part for it. It's usually pretty obvious when something's broken. Make sure you take note of how it goes together when you take it apart, sometimes the smallest change makes a huge difference.
