'10 kx250f chain'slider'
  • I recently bought a 10 kx250f. Im new to some of this new stuff on bikes. I just noticed the chain is digging into the chain slider or chain slide, and I about need a new one. My chain was loose so I tightened it up and I'm thinking maybe the slide is like that because the chain was loose and slapping on the slide. One of my questions for you is should the chain be riding on the whole slide? I was thinking if I lowered the suspension then the front sprocket would be higher than the high point of the swing arm making the chain stay off the slide but I have no idea where to start if that's the case. I do not believe it is healthy for the chain to be riding on the slide for it is showing wear on the inside of the chain and I'm close to needing a new slide... I don't know where to start.. please help me with your knowledge.

chains wear into the slider faster if you dont lube your chain enough

The wear in the slide is normal. Just change them before the chain starts wearing into the swing arm.

  • I put the Polisport one on my bike. Why? Well it is less than $20 and it is as thick as the TM Designworks. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this gem.
