How can i make honda crf 150f as loud as possible?
  • I just started to go to races last year and i love the sounds of the supercross bikes. I know that most of the bikes are two strokes and that mine is a 4 stroke but I would really like to make my bike sound like the race bikes or at least really loud. I currently have a honda crf 150f. I just bought an fmf pipe q4. Is there anything else that I can do that is safe for bike but still make it louder. Thank You!

throw the q4 away and run no muffler will get the result you ask for

Just take the exhaust off at the head. Loud as Ull get it. Don't know how safe that is and you'll for sure loose back pressure. Give it a min NZ will say there no such thing as back pressure or sumthin.
  • Ok making your bike loud does nothing for performance and is a completely irresponsible way to ride. If you want a race bike save your pennies and buy one. Otherwise just enjoy riding what you have!

People who makes there bikes really loud for no reason are just over compensators right? Just like people who purposely make trucks and cars obnoxiously loud. Now if you were to buy a performance pipe that is louder then so be it your doing it for a reason... To gain performance.

So i agree with the others, save your pennies and buy a bigger bike when you can. For now ride what you got and be happy for having something

"running no pipe will burn the gaskets."

No it wont. back pressure is a falacy when it comes to engine life. it can affect engine torque but wont directly damage anything.

Loud bikes are the #1 complaint I hear from people who are shutting down riding areas.  The qi\uiter the better for a TRAIL bike.  Get a crf150r ,it is plenty loud STOCK, and go to the track, the trill of riding will make up for any ego boost a loud bike can give you.

Also the supercross bike are all 4 strokes, if you want a cool sound trade for a KX100, cooler, louder, and the sound will not carry as far to annoy others !

Why would you want to make your bike louder?. Besides being obnoxious, only gooners ride loud bikes.
  • it affects your ears!

Alright Kiddo, let's first and foremost get some facts straight here:  1.  Supercross race bikes are 4 strokes.  No one has competitively raced two strokes at a Supercross level in several years.  2.  Two strokes are quieter than four strokes, so even if they were racing two strokes, you'd be hearing less noise, not more.  3.  Loud bikes do NOTHING for performance or the reputation of riders.

Your 150f is not a performance machine.  It is a GREAT bike, but it is designed to be quiet, forestry legal and trail friendly.  It is designed to purr to keep it within a legal rang of sound, and in particular, fall within California's regulations on green sticker machines.  It is meant for a much different purpose than the race bikes you love and so the motor delivers power in a much different way, causing different sounds.

The Q4 you put on your bike is one of the quietest aftermarket pipes on the market…the "Q" literally stands for "quiet".  Now, it might be louder than stock, but only by a small margin.  You aren't going to find many pipes for this bike in general, especially louder/race type pipes because it is not a race machine.

While the race bikes sound loud, almost every pipe company does their best to engineer the quietest pipes possible while also having the most power gain.  Believe it or not, but even race bikes have to pass a sound test and if they are louder than a certain decibel level at a certain RPM, they don't pass tech inspection and consequently, they don't race.  In a stadium like in supercross, the sound echos and bounces off the stadium walls…it makes the sound even louder than what it really is.

There are regulations on sound because of the effect sound has on the environment and people outside the motorcycle industry.  As riders, we are all grouped into one category…whether you're riding a Harley down PCH or practicing flippies at the Metal Mulisha Compound, to the people who don't ride, we are all the same…and loud noises are annoying.  Ranchers complain about their horses and cattle being spooked by loud pipes, drivers complain of being scared by the unexpected sound of loud pipes on the freeway…these things make us look bad.  They make our fight to keep trails and riding areas open even harder.  If we continue to do things that upset the 'outside world' we are sealing our own fates.  It is our responsibility as riders to try and change some of the reputations we have by abiding by regulations and going above and beyond to make sure that our kids have a place to ride when they grow up (which includes running quiet pipes ;) )

almost to well put courtney! :) that was like reading something out of a text book hahah :) not trying to contradict what anyone said please dont take offense! if you want to make your bike a bit louder (not to much) without being completely obnoxious, I am pretty sure there is a baffle in the Q4 exhaust/muffler you could take out to un cork the bike a bit and it would help the bike breathe a little better and give you a little nicer sound. That is if there is a baffle i am not 100% sure.

Just pull the baffle out. I have the same bike. I removed the baffle out of my stock pipe and noticed a significant increase in power. I am very pleased with the results because the bike is sounds and performs way better, but it isnt annoyingly loud. It isnt even as loud as the 150r, but it sounds like a beast.

Ridding with no muffler will not hurt nothing as nz said..plus taking off muffler will make performance difference..my X18 110cc does 36 with me on it with factory restructures and governors on it..I took exhaust off it did 45 with me on it.I put a 2 brothers pipe on it but I wanted to see what it sounded like with nothing on it...pull the baffle out like hurt said..it will have a bit of a hollow can sound but definitely be louder

Csully good write up..but loud pipes save lives..my mom is founder of a womens motorcycle club,my grandfather is a angel..been around it my whole life.. motorcycles are in alot of blind spots and if you cant be seen be heard..they cant always see you but they can hear you..alot of people think bikers are gangsters I guess I can put it..from the time old vets put a motorcycle gang together to now...there labeled as Outkast as criminals to society....alot of people think that people who ride motorcycles are crazy there unsafe,, there's nothing anybody will be able to do ever to change this..inless old generation dies off one times change..kind of like tattoos once frowned upon now doctors lawyers judges have them...most bikers are tatted up....dirtbikes are frowned upon because people what people do with them.. tear lawns, crops up dis obey traffic laws.fly by cars..out of all bikes dirtbikes are the most stolen..dmv abandoned them here in Maryland....the 12 o clock boys they call there self ride 100 deep through Baltimore city streets,, they disobey all laws,,,so many people died n hot hurt from it ,,,the police are not allowed to chase you on a dirtbike here nomore..they just sit n watch or get sued,,,but if you stop your done....i dont do this I have respect in common courtesy..and 99% of the bikes they ride are stolen...sad but true..
