ktm exc 250 no idle
  • i got a bike from boise id after sitting for several years got carb cleanned it runs good but no idle i have tried adjusting needle and air mixture screw and no difference so im thinking i  need to change pilote jet but dont know which way and if there is something else need to do


    ps when i was being used in boise it ran like a dream

    it has to be something else.  Try checking the pilot jet for a clog.  Which way did you adjust the needle?   I hope you lowered it, by raising the clip a notch or two.  The idle is controlled primarily by the needle position and air screw adjustment.  I assume you have adjusted the idle screw?

    The idle on some Kehins can be adjusted by turning the chocke knob.
