    i replaced the top end on my 2008 xc300 replated cylender new piston and rings
    it smokes and drules a bit more then it did. why

    It's running too rich probably. If it's white smoke and excessive then you have a leaky head gasket most likely. But "splooge", the black drool that oozes from the exhaust pipe is indicative of running too rich.

    50:1 fuel/ oil ratio. Use quality oil. Motorex preferably.

    If the bike still runs good, and your not fowling plugs, then the extra oil in your mixture is not gonna hurt the bike.. I run 40:1, little extra smoke, but keeps peace of mind that the cylinders staying nice and lubed.
