kx450f question?
  • i have a 2006 kx450f and i was wondering if i took the decompression switch off if the bike would start and run correctly . (the little lever over the clutch bolt on the handlebars) :? need an answer THANKS!

    thats not a decompression lever. its a hot start lever that when pulled opens a port in the carb to lean the starting mixture out. it can be hard to start these bikes when hot without it. but the bike will run fine

  • ohh i was told it was a decompression switch just because it makes it eayser to kick over. haha but thanks alot man helped a lot! :D

    placebo affect. someone tells you it makes it easier to kick. you feel like its easier to kick. in reality pulling that lever wont change how hard it is to kick at all.
