  • I need to do some repainting on my frame, mostly from rock chips and boot wear. Is there a can of spray paint that is the same as the stock blue. Or could i order a oem spray paint? :?

None that I know of, and from previous painting experience, you should really just strip it, and have it powder coated. Make it last if youre gonna put in the work on it ya know.

Tim is right. Spray paint will wear right off. Powder coating is a good choice and automotive paint is the way to go.

Bout a $100-150 or so. depends on where you go but it should not be much more than that.

Powder coat is a waist of money Unless your re doing a mint bike. Auto paint is Excellent Now days and cheap do it yourself.
Just remember that prep is everything! You can get it at most Auto zone's and or Pep boys. But you NEED to srip the frame as you prob know. And it will last.
  • Yup its old but I got ever thing the way I want it except the frame.
Ive been trying to get some frame guards but all the used ones on ebay and various other places dont have the mounts. How much are you selling yours for?

wood, I do agree with you on a mint bike. Its perfect mechanically but is 10 years old. How long could I expect auto paint vs powder coating?

Just take a paint chip in and match. It will be close.
mY OPINION is that you may be taking this to far. The bike is old and the money spent on paint could be used better. No bust here brother, Trying to help.
    Just think about it.

Nah I'll say it, it is a waste. But if you do do it, might as well be done right. One trick I've done, after you paint it, cover those wear spots with grip tape like what you use for skate decks. It sticks like glue, and can take a serious beating before it wears off. At least that will protect it for when you want to sell it, just rip the grip tape off, no worries.

How is it a waste? This might be his pride and joy, who cares if its old? He just wants to keep his bike looking nice, and nothing is wrong with that. You can buy new Works Connection aluminum frame guards from Motosport for $59.99 plus free shipping

IIf you PC yu will not be able to get any frame guards on there. The powder coating is too thick for the the mounts on teh frame guards to fit. I made this mistake.
