badcoilIt sounds like it's not revving ok...I worked great two week-ends ago. When I started it last week-end it started properly but after 2 minutes of warm up it just quit. I started it up again with one kick, it idled properly. Gave it some gas and it sputtered white smoke out of the exhaust port. Everytime I give it some throttle it sputters and dies. Sometimes after it dies the plug is very wet.I cleaned the carb, same thing happens.Would dirty power valves cause this? How can I check this?BTW it has 130 compression, idles properly and worked great 2 week-end ago. any ideas?
badcoilIt's a 82 YZ... did the Top end in may 2008.And I ride an average of 30 hours a years. Just around the cottage, no racing. What I can't figure is that white smoke coming out of the exhaust port. Like a "poof" of white smoke, it's almost throwing the exhaust pipe off the exhaust port. I ordered a book for it today. I tried two new plugs with the same results. I just doesn't want to rev.
badcoilcoolant level was a bit low, gear oil was grey. I had a leaking cylinder base gasket. On top of that I noticed the carb float height was off by 4 mm so it was running rich. No more "poof" when I give it some gas ;-)
