kickstart lever breaking

    You broke the kickstart level? As is snapped it in half? Never heard of that before! lol

    I have got a 2000 rm 250. I just broke the 4th kickstart lever. Can anyone tell me maybe what the problem is, im not kicking that hard.

    When you kick it; does it ofen feel like its kicking back? If the timing is off it can kick back.

    Where is the kick starter breaking at?

    The timing is perfect, i alredy checked that. Its breaking at the phillps head screw where the lever swings out.

    Right there there is a weak spot in the lever try getting a procircuit or sunline lever if they make one for your bike.

    I think one of the aftermarket companies mad new starters from billet aluminum to solve this problem.

    By chance are you replacing with the same lever ? May be a defect from the comp. 4 of them is not normal. That or you have one mean kick!image

    they all have been suzuki levers. Does anyone know who makes an aftermarket one?

    Seems strange ...
    breaking up the kick start leaver so many times, it isn't that easy to break either there is something wrong with the way you kick, or it might be a basic manufacturing defect or something wrong with its functioning.

    I'm sure the op here is long gone bike been sold or at the junkyard by now.
