04 yz125 low end bogging
  • I have a yz 125 that keeps bogging in the low end(like when i hit the gas from a slow speed). I have replaced all the bearings and seals in the engine., I also just put a hinson clutch setup in it. I have tryed Jetting it one size smaller but still nothing. Can someone please help!!!! Thanks Dave

Try using the clutch. Rolling the throttle on at a low speed is going to cause it to bog for a second but then it should pick up into the midrange, gotta relize that 125's low-end is almost non existent.

As mentioned; 125's don't have a lot of low end to start. If you are idling along and just whack the throttle they can momentarily bog due to the throttle jumping open.

Is this bog something that just started? Is it thesame in the lower and upper gears?

  • i have a yz 125 as well, same thing happened when i swapped to a larger final drive ratio(sprockets) but running an iridium plug and good gas helps alot! and utlizing the clutch as mad dog mentioned helps alot as well so when allcombined with a good set up will wind that lil bad boy right out

  • this helped me thank you
  • You might not be running a rich enough fuel mixture. I did this on my bike I was supposed to do a 32:1 and I did more along the lines of a 40:1 and it caused it to bog more than usual. Also, it could be your spark plug. Make sure you're revvin the bike high rpm's instead of low end all the time, it causes carbon buildup causing your bike to bog more. Also, yz125's virtually all the power is in the mid-range to top end. Again, keep the rpm's up high! I did this end it helped considerably, also it helped me stop fouling my spark plugs!
